Friday morning our Roo Wrestlers loaded the bus to head to Coppell to compete against the very best that our region has to offer. Weatherford had 9 regional qualifiers including a district champ and 3 additional as alternatives. It was also a very young team with a majority of the group being sophomores. There was a lot of blood sweat and tears that went into competition yesterday resulting in some amazing wins as well as some devastating losses.

In the end 2 of our wrestlers advanced and will return this morning to extend their quest to state. Our thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with Mason and Gunner today as they continue to battle it out.


On day two both Mason and Gunner battled until the finish. Mason Walker finished in 5th place in the region, which is a major accomplishment.

Gunner Spotanski finished in third place which qualifies him for the state meet. Being in one of the toughest regions in the state, Gunner is very excited to represent the Roos.
