The Weatherford Boys basketball team opened up the 2022-2023 season with a victory Tuesday night over Azle 54-53. The Roos were led by Blaine Kapka and Jaylin Smith. Smith had 14 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks on the night. Kapka had five points and five assists. He also played great defense on Azle's best player all night long.
The Roos are in action again Friday night in Aledo.
