The JV Lady Roos started out the 2022 season with a convincing victory over the Abilene Eagles on Tuesday night in straight sets (25-18, 25-18). The Lady Roos started out slowly until a big kill from Reagan Rees got the offense going, down 2-7 at the time. Later on in the first set Anna Schrantz had four aces in a row to give the Roos a 21-14 lead. Kinley Kemp finished off the first set with a kill from Carly Cienega.
The second set started just like the first one ended, with a Kemp kill. The second set was back and forth with Alyssa Lane tying the score at 12. Momentum shifted towards the Roos with a huge kill by Maris Boop to make the score 15-12. Kemp closed the door late serving by having a couple of aces.
The JV is in action again this weekend at the Denton Ryan tournament.
