ROO BALL SWEEPS ALEDO TO START THE SEASON 2-0

The Kangaroo Baseball team opened the season Monday night with a pair of victories vs the Aledo Bearcats. The Roos took game 1 on a walk off single by Jake Williams 4-3 and then swept the doubleheader by winning game 2 7-6. Dayton Tockey led the offense with a couple of doubles off the wall and 2 RBI's. Jake Williams had 3 hits and 2 RBI's, one being the game winning RBI in game 1. Drew Ortiz, Kannon Kemp, Juan Mascorro, Trace Holcomb, and Omar Juarez all had hits for the Roos. In game 1, Tockey started on the mound going 4 strong innings striking out 5 Bearcats before giving way to Grady Moore who pitched the final 3 innings also striking out 5 while picking up the win. In game 2, Kannon Kemp pitched the first 4 innings striking out 8 while allowing just 2 hits, Ty Sansom struck out 2 in 1 inning of work picking up the win in relief before Tanner Mullins came to finish the game retiring 6 of the final 7 hitters to pick up the save. The Roos will be back in action in the Midland Tournament Thursday - Saturday. Our next home game will be Tuesday, March 8th vs Fossil Ridge at 7:00 PM.
