The Kangaroo baseball team beat Chisholm Trail 5-0 Friday night on Senior night to clinch a spot in the Texas High School Playoffs. Landon Ellington picked up the win on the mound throwing his 2nd no hitter in two weeks. Ellington went the distance shutting out the Rangers, not allowing a hit and had 10 strikeouts. Dawson Nelson led the offense with 2 hits and an RBI, Trace Holcomb picked up a single scoring 2 runs, and Ellington hit a triple before Luke Bagwell drove him in with a sacrifice fly. Preston Lunceford hit a double in the 6th inning and then Kaben Skold hit a single to drive in pinch runner Max Adair to make the score 5-0. The defense was stellar as well, highlighted by a diving play at 1st base by Dayton Tockey to preserve the no hitter. We would like to acknowledge all 13 seniors and what they have meant to the program. The seniors are Hudson Stark, Landon Ellington, Luke Bagwell, Bryce Billingsley, Max Adair, Reece Lawrence, Bruce Collingsworth, Kaben Skold, Mason Spikes, Dawson Nelson, Preston Lunceford, Coy McBride, and Kaden Kerbow. The Roos will take on Keller High School next week in the Bi-district round of the playoffs.
