Weatherford Freshman (8-2 District)
Game Score Weatherford 2- Trinity 0 (25-21; 25-17)
1 – 25-21
First set was a back and forth set which saw the Lady Roos down most of the set until a big kill by Linsey Gomez put us up 19-18 and the Lady Roos never looked back. The set was ended with a big block from Madolyn Ballard and Gracie Hughes.
2 – 25-17
The Lady Roos led most of this set thanks to a huge run with Hope Carey serving. She scored eight straight points forcing Trinity to take a timeout. It was too little too late for the Trojans though as the Lady Roos closed it out 25-17.
JV Game
Weatherford (10-0 District)
1 – 25-16
Weatherford got behind early, 5-10, but then the powerful served of Samantha Grove got the Roos back in the game. The Roos took the lead for good in the first set while A’Mya Hodges was serving. Karla Borden had some key blocks and kills to get the Roos going.
2 – 25-7
The Lady Roos started out on a 6-0 run thanks to the serving of Avree Hudson. Weatherford dominated the second set by winning 25-8.
Varsity
Weatherford (10-0 District)
1 – 25-10
Weatherford started out with a 4-0 lead and never looked back. Abbie Lane started out serving and ran the score up quickly. Kate Hansen had two quick kills and two blocks to set the tone for the Lady Roos. Trinity worked the score back to a tie at 7-7 but then a few Lane kills and Loran serves quickly turned the lead to 19-9. Kayleigh Bateman added some kills and fresh off of her top ten finish at district cross country this morning Ashley Carlisle added several digs. Lynsey Lee finished off the first set with a kill and a dig on consecutive points.
2 – 25-14
The second set started with Trinity going up 5-0 but the Lady Roos quickly came back with a few Lee and Hansen kills. The score was tied at 12 when Hansen had a huge block to make the score 13-12 and the Lady Roos never looked back. Bateman had two aces and Lee had one serving while Caitlyn Benson had a big kill while filling in for the injured Riess Griffth. Lee finished the set while serving.
3 – 25-22
The third set saw the Lady Roos jump out to an early lead at 8-2 thanks to a Bateman ace and kills by Hansen and Lee. Trinity fought back though and tied the game at 10. The rest of the match was highly spirited and very back and forth. With the score tied at 22 the Trojans were called with a double touch to give the Lady Roos the lead. Loran served the last two points and the game was finished with a Benson kill that was blocked out of bounds.
The Lady Roos are still undefeated in district play and play again at North Crowley on Tuesday night.
