The Roos were down by two with under a minute to play and Haltom was on the Roo 2 yard line. The Roo Defense came up with a big turnover to get the ball back with under a minute to play and 99 yards to go. The offense did just that scoring on an 89 touchdown pass.

In the Freshmen Blue Game the offense was highlighted by CJ Thornton throwing four touchdown passes. Xavier Holden caught one of them for 13 yards, one for 60 yards, one for 89 yards, and one to Britton Burrows for 42 yards right before the end of the first half. The first touchdown came on a fumble recovery for a touchdown by Nick Limon.

Joseph Polk also had big runs to keep the Roos in the game while down in the second half, running tough all night long.

A late fumble recovery on the one yard line by the defense gave the Roos the ball with less than a minute to play to drive the length of the field. With 28 seconds left Thornton found Holden for an 89 yard touchdown pass. With the two point conversion, a run by Burrows, the Roos took the lead for good at 34-28. The ensuing kickoff the Roos recovered at the 24 yard line and took a knee to end the game.
